The Canadian Geomatics Awards nominated Alex Hill-Stosky for the Thought Leadership Award. He earned this recognition through his leadership in LiDAR extraction, photogrammetry, and geospatial analytics. With a strong background in hydrography and surveying, Alex applies advanced technology to improve how infrastructure projects are delivered across Canada.
Dan McCarthy received a nomination for the Private Sector Geospatial Company of the Year Award. He earned recognition for his leadership in bringing digital twin and reality capture solutions to Canada’s telecom sector. Dan’s work has improved broadband asset management, increased efficiency, and enhanced decision-making in complex infrastructure projects.
These nominations highlight individual excellence, but they also reflect the wider contribution of Eagle. Five years ago, Eagle introduced reality capture services to the Canadian geomatics market. Since then, Alex and Dan have worked with their teams to apply the technology to real-world problems. Their projects have made fieldwork safer, improved the accuracy of municipal asset management, and accelerated broadband expansion in rural and underserved communities.
The GoGeomatics Expo, Canada’s largest dedicated geomatics event, hosts the Canadian Geomatics Awards. Organized by GoGeomatics Canada, the Expo brings together professionals, companies, researchers, and government to celebrate innovation and strengthen the industry. Recognition for Alex and Dan highlights Eagle’s role in advancing reality capture while showcasing Canadian leadership on a national stage.
